Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel Wedding
Katie & Drew, talk about a couple who just radiates with love for one another! These two were grinning from ear to ear the entire day in anticipation, excitement, and adoration of one another. Both the ceremony and reception took place at the historic and yet urban Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel wedding. With a palette of navy, gold, and cream, Katie & Drew enjoyed an elegant yet warm and fun wedding!
Their Story
It all started with an app called Hinge.
Drew had just returned from Thailand and Katie had finally fully recovered from surgery. They happened to join Hinge around the same time. This is how they went from Hinge to getting hitched! After a message or two, an invitation to tacos & margs at Steel Cactus followed. Messaging on the app was tedious and they both aren’t big texters (their friends and family will attest), so both were happy to find someone who understood in-person conversation as a priority.
First Date – July 22nd, 2015
Katie was running late (directions are not her strong suit). She raced up the stairs to the first floor of Steel Cactus. If she had known Drew better then, she would have known his “solar-complex” requires him to be outside or in the sunlight every chance he can get and would have gone straight to the top floor. Drew patiently waited and ordered a margarita to bide his time. After the hostess told her to go to the wrong table downstairs, Katie finally found Drew. Over tacos and margaritas the talked about their jobs, travel and plans throughout Pittsburgh during the summer. At the end of the gorgeous afternoon, he asked for her number and set the next date for two days later – at Alexanders followed by Jam on Walnut.
Proposal – March 24th, 2016
Drew suggested they go out to dinner and the Sound of Music (one of Katie’s favorite musicals) since the busy season of work had finished up. They went to Sienna on the Square for dinner (and several sangrias), then walked down by Point State Park to stretch their legs before the show. They found a quiet spot and sat down to talk for a while. Drew tried to direct the conversation to more serious relationship topics, and Katie was oblivious; she was talking about the birds in the park and mulch replacement on the grounds. Thankfully, he has a way of helping her focus and eventually he transitioned from birds and mulch -> to lovebirds and putting down roots -> to one knee and asking her to spend the rest of her life with him. She said yes!

Hello, I am interested in learning more about your pricing and packages for my wedding on Oct 19th 2019 at Sanaview farms in the Laurel Highlands. I didn’t know if that would be too far to travel or not. Thank you.
