Omni William Penn Hotel Wedding
Alexa & John had a beautiful wedding at the Omni William Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. The day was accented in a palette of blush, gold, pink, and greys. Alexa has one of the most contagious smiles you will ever see—you can’t NOT be smiling when she is! She rocked a gorgeous lace bodice gown by Stephen Yearick and a beautiful and statement cathedral length veil. Not only was it a great day for a wedding, but it was a great day for their future too. John is a hockey player and actually signed a new contract for the Anaheim Ducks on his wedding day! These two are so sweet and so in love. We had a blast spending the day with them!
Their Story
From Alexa: John and I have known each other since Kindergarten. We attended St. Gabriel’s school together until 8th grade. Ice skating parties, school dances, sports, and musicals were the norm for us. Can you imagine John being in the Wizard of Oz? Playing the part of Uncle Henry? (So cute!). I bet not, but there are pictures to prove it! We had fun in school. John used to tease me but we were just friends. After grade school, John attended Baldwin High for a year and moved to Michigan to pursue his hockey dreams. I, on the other hand, attended Seton La Salle and we lost touch for a few years. The summer of my Freshman year going into college we reconnected :) Johns brother Justin and my cousin Anthony were making their communion at our grade school alma mater. John was rarely home in Pittsburgh. What are the chances?? I’d say fate! We hadn’t been in touch since 8th GRADE! John looked incredibly handsome. We said a quick “Hello, How are you?” and went on our way. Soon after that hello we were talking on a regular basis. It didn’t turn into much of anything, John moved to Canada and I started college, it wasn’t easy to stay in touch. Towards the end of my Sophomore year, we started getting closer and closer in our relationship. We knew very early that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. After three and a half years of a VERY long distance relationship, John, with the permission of my Dad, asked me to marry him on June 2, 2016. Here we are a little over 2 years later!
