It’s no secret, I love Lake Erie sunsets. I proposed to Jennifer on Lake Erie (during a killer sunset) and every time I’ve been back, we get the freaking best light. Maggie & Stephen’s wedding was no exception.
We had two portrait shoots, one before the ceremony (first look) and one during sunset. The couple was able to catch their cocktail hour and we got amazing photos, it’s really the best of both worlds. We got the light & bright AND the dark & moody ;)
Hello Productions, as well as all of the vendors involved, crushed the setup and everything looked/flowed perfectly.
Maggie & Stephen lived in California at the time, so we kept up via phone calls and emails to talk through the day leading up. I had a great time working with them both and we bonded over our mutual love of human emotion which Maggie studies professionally!!
The locations were spectacular, a gigantic vineyard and the Lake Erie shore. I just need to find a way to get near water more often!
Enjoy the photos and if you’re curious, here is how the couple met…
They met on OK Cupid, and Maggie suggested their first date at Eighty-Two, an arcade bar in Downtown Los Angeles. They played some classic arcade games, had a few drinks and basically just totally hit it off. Maggie was impressed by Stephen’s willingness to engage in intense conversation and thought he wasn’t quite as geeky as he proclaimed to be. Stephen thought Maggie was even more beautiful than in her photos, which is actually quite a feat.
