Maura & Dan literally met dancing, it’s no surprise their wedding was full of the same! It was a party to remember.
We got to talk before the wedding and highlight what is most important to them, it was MOMENTS. I didn’t want to take all of their time with portraits, so we split it up. We took some after the ceremony, a few more after dinner, and a final few during sunset. Breaking up the photo session is typically a welcome break and gives us a wider selection of backdrops and light to work with. It’s personally my favorite way to shoot!
The wedding was beautiful, and Allegheny Country Club was just perfect. They had a classic Rolls-Royce getaway from the church, beautiful florals, live music, and an incredible display of treats and cookies! These are some of my favorite dancing photos, it was way hard to narrow things down :)
It was late 2016, Dan flew from his home in Tampa to Pittsburgh to visit his family for the weekend and attend his friend’s surprise birthday party. Maura had just passed the Pennsylvania Bar Exam, and she went out with her friend—as part of her effort to re-join society after months of studying. Dan and his family went to Howl at the Moon, where his sister Anne was a lead musician. Luckily, Chelsie brought Maura to the same place. Dan and Maura spotted each other from across the bar, but their eyes never met. It was Chelsie, who approached Dan and lead him to Maura. Immediately, Dan and Maura knew they would be married– it was as simple as second nature. By April, Maura and her dachshund Wesley moved to Tampa. May 2016, with a little help from Wesley, Dan proposed to Maura. Now, the best is yet to come!
