When Jackie and Brian picked the Kimpton Hotel Monaco for their wedding, they weren’t just choosing a venue—they were embracing a piece of Pittsburgh’s rich history. This iconic building, dating back to 1903, has transformed over the years from an electric company to a law firm, and now, into a breathtaking hotel. Its Beaux Arts-style façade pays homage to its past, while the interior bursts with vibrant, contemporary decor. Bold colors, eclectic art, and whimsical sculptures set the stage for a wedding that was destined to be anything but ordinary.
Their ceremony options were truly spectacular. They could say “I do” in a stunning two-story ballroom with elegant ivory columns and bathed in natural light, or on a rooftop with the Pittsburgh skyline as their backdrop, nine stories up. Jackie and Brian chose the rooftop, creating a magical moment that felt like the entire city paused to celebrate their love. Standing there, with the city sprawled beneath them, it was as if time stood still just for them. Their wedding coordinator, Tim Komen, ensured everything went off without a hitch, making their dream day a reality.
After the beautiful rooftop ceremony, the celebration moved to a reception that was all about taste and flair. The Commoner, known for its fresh and flavorful cuisine, served a feast that was far from typical wedding fare. Guests enjoyed a culinary journey as vibrant as the hotel itself, filled with laughter, love, and music. Hens and Chicks provided stunning floral arrangements that added elegance to the setting. The Move Makers Band kept the energy high and the dance floor packed all night. Sara Jenkins did an incredible job with Jackie’s makeup, and Hair By Damien made sure her hair looked stunning. Every toast, dance, and shared glance between Jackie and Brian was a testament to their unique story, set in one of Pittsburgh’s most eclectic venues.
